OUR LARGEST EMEX EVER! The largest national technology trade exhibition in New Zealand for the engineering, manufacturing and electronics industries has arrived – along with more than 180 national and international exhibitors bursting at the seams to showcase, educate and sell their leading products and services. Held every two years EMEX is an event that connects 5000+ trade visitors over 3 days with the leading products, services and technology to help them innovate and grow. So what’s new? It’s more like what’s old?! Technology is advancing so fast in this sector that it has inspired us to further develop the Innovation Quarter, where fresh ideas connect with commercial opportunity. We are also introducing a brand-new concept with the support of Callaghan Innovation & Locus Research, The Innovation Lab - a zone created to help foster up-and-coming talent within the industry. Students and start-up engineers will have the opportunity to showcase their ideas and compete for $10,000 worth of prizes to help bring their concepts to life. During the 3 days, EMEX will host more than 28 free seminars delivered by leading industry professionals. From New Product Design & Collaborative Approach, to Metal 3D Printing and Industry 4.0, there will be something for everyone to learn and grow from. Check out the schedule on page 13. EMEX is committed to helping bridge the industry skills gap and demonstrate the great career path that manufacturing and engineering provides for the youth of today. Based on the successful graduate’s programme at SOUTHMACH in 2017, EMEX in conjunction with Competenz & MIT will be introducing “Speedmeets” - an opportunity for secondary and tertiary students to meet with potential employees in seven-minute mini-interviews. The Employers and Training Hub in Hall 1 is where it is all happening. EMEX is proudly supported by numerous leading industry organisations and educational institutions whom we would like to extend our gratitude to; The Manufacturers Network, Competenz, Energy Management Assoc. of NZ, Maintenance Engineers Society New Zealand and Callaghan Innovation. We’d also like to thank our myriad of media partners who have covered the show extensively. If there’s any facet of this show that we can improve on then please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or join in our growing industry conversation on facebook. Finally, we would like to thank all of the companies that have invested significant time, energy and resources into making this a must attend event for the manufacturing and engineering communities. The exhibitor products and services you experience in the coming 3 days are well suited to showcase kiwi designed manufacturing and engineering in all its facets. Have a great show.
